Catechism Homework
1) Read the Bold #s 1-143 (I’m not sure what page numbers this would be in the hard cover)
a) This will cover: the Prologue, Part One: The Profession of Faith, Section One “I Believe” – “We Believe” and Article 1 The Revelation of God…
b) The most important thing to remember about numbers (because there are a lot) is the bold numbers that go in order on the left side of the page are the ones that you want to follow. The small italicized numbers on the outside will refer you to more information in the catechism… for example if you are reading about bold number 29 (aka paragraph 29) it has small numbers to the left 2123-2128. If you want to read more about the “intimate and vital bond of man to God” you can then flip ahead to the bold paragraph numbers 2123-2128 where it will talk about Atheism – people who do not realize this bond. The numbers at the end of pragraphs give you scripture references where the teaching came from or letters like GS or AA which are Abbreviations which can be found in the back of the Catechism – these are church documents which can be found online – and are the teachings of the Church Councils.
2) Write down the following on a separate sheet of paper.
a) 3 Insights that you gained from reading the catechism as well as 3 questions that you still have either from the reading or about our faith in general.
